Lisa Cassidy
Cassidy teaches philosophy at Ramapo College of New Jersey, a public Liberal Arts college. Her research often focuses on the family, personal responsibility, and embodiment, but also includes writing on pedagogy and “popular” philosophy, as well. She has published articles on who should have children, what charitable obligations exist between strangers, why undergraduates learn philosophy from stick figure drawings, and how the television character Carmela Soprano uses care ethics. Currently Cassidy is the treasurer for the Eastern division of the Society for Women in Philosophy. She lives in one very tiny apartment with Mark, her husband, and Honey, their irrepressible shelter-dog.
