Jonathan Westphal

Jonathan Westphal's main work has been on questions at the intersection of philosophy of mind and metaphysics, especially in the philosophy of color. He also has interests in the philosophy of time, and in the history of philosophy he has done a little work on Leibniz. He has worked on a federal grant on "optical logic" and on diagrammatic logic systems. In 1984 he was inexplicably elected a Permanent Member of the Senior Common Room at University College, Oxford. He has been an Alexander Humboldt Fellow at the Institut für Statistik und Wissenschaftstheorie in the University of Munich, and Professor of Philosophy at Idaho State University. Jonathan's publications include Colour: A Philosophical Introduction (1991).
