Andrew Pessin teaches philosophy at Connecticut College, and is the author, most recently, of a novel, The Irrationalist, based on the sad life and mysterious death of the famous philosopher and mathematician René Descartes. Pessin has also written numerous philosophical books aimed at the general reader, his latest being the textbook The Study of Philosophy, available from Rowman & Littlefield.
